Beta believes that what manifests within is also what is shown to us in our 'outer' world. Thus her guiding mantra has become 'the body knows,' a simple yet profound realization that we must tune in and listen to our physical selves for answers on matters of health, wellness and spiritual truth.
A number of health systems and modalities are covered in Beta's work, including elements of Myofascial Release Therapy, Vital Essence Trauma Release Breathwork, Somatic Experiencing, Chakra Healing Awareness and Mindfulness.

Raised in Macau, Filipa returned to her birth country to study Law at the University of Lisbon. She followed her dream to work as a reporter at one of the largest private TV channels in Portugal for over 12 years. Then Filipa changed her life. She now dedicates herself full-time to yoga, practising, teaching, and writing about everything related to wellbeing and inner growth. It was in Bali that the big change happened. She lived in Ubud – the mecca of yoga – for over 4 years with her family. It was a wonderful experience and it gave her the opportunity to teach at the most recognised yoga centres, such as Radiantly Alive and Taksu. She also participated in various retreats on the Island of the Gods and taught at international yoga festivals, such as the Bali Spirit Festival.
Filipa started practising Ashtanga Yoga more than 10 years ago in Casa Vinyasa with Isa Guitana and Tarik, her primary teachers. Since embarking on this new journey through yoga, the experience has been both rewarding and challenging.
Driven by a feeling of certainty of having chosen the right path, she systematically engaged in studies and travelled to India to research more elements about the practice. Since 2013 she travels every year to Mysore, in India, to study with her teacher ParamaGuru, Sharath Jois. During her fourth trip to Mysore, her teacher granted her the honour and blessing to teach the traditional method according to the Krisna Pathabi Jois Ashtanga Yoga Institute (KPJAYI).
In parallel, Filipa is studying Ayurveda with her teacher Dr. Chitralekha, from the Ayurveda Medical College in Mysore.
She kept up her love for writing in her blog Yoga-me, where her journalist's spirit lives on. Initiated in 2013, her articles soon became a book, which was released and published in Portuguese in 2016 with the same name: Yoga-me, the art of opening the heart.
Filipa is known for her dynamic and transformative classes in which her students learn the great purpose of practising yoga: the opening of the heart.
At the moment she lives in Cascais with her family. Filipa teaches yoga classes at several locations between Cascais and Lisbon, and participates in various wellness events as a yoga teacher as well as a speaker.
She is an ambassador yogini and was chosen to open the first Wanderlust festival in Portugal in 2017. She returns annually to Bali to show her students the island of the Gods and to introduce them to or deepen their practice of yoga. There, she teaches at the Bali Spirit Festival, one the most recognised yoga festivals on the planet.
